Back in the day, there was a contest called Tamiyacon. They would give eout freebies like old cheap kits and this was from a samurai set that they gave out. I got it one year and took it back the next year and won first place with it.. amazing.. painted with Citadel acrylics. Someone told me that Mr. Tamiya himself (yes, “THE” Mr. Tamiya) had liked it and voted for it. That was cool..
