Knight of Gold - Buster Rock version / Volks 1:100 IMS Plastic Kit

My 3rd Knight of Gold kit is finished! I've had this one for a few months, since before its release. I usually like to hurry and get the pre-production kits finished before their release date so it can be used as marketing, since that's what the build's for (mostly just for showing off at events), but this time I got busy with work just after I started it. Since I was working longer hours, I wasn't able to finish early, but that's ok. It's done now and the final product looks great!

I Used Mr Color "Red Gold" without a top coat for the main color, "Super Metallic Super Kappa" for the copper. Because putting any kind of clear coat over metallics gives it kind of a "too glossy" look. It's hard to explain, but if you saw a comparison, you'd understand. Unfortunately, this means the finish is more delicate. I've had to do more touch-ups while building than on a usual project. I almost regret not top-coating it, but not really..

So, the main difference with this one and the first release is the big gun, and it doesn't come with the big bow. It also has new feet, which are the more flat style, which I prefer over the usual heels to be honest. The Buster Rock (that's what the cannon is called officially, it's a "smaller" Buster Launcher, which is almost like a nuclear cannon or something in the FSS universe, the Buster Rock is like a lower powered version)...anyway, like I was saying, the Buster Rock is exactly 2ft long when extended so it's a shelf space whore, but it looks so cool in that pose. I was originally going to just have it standing in the case in stowed mode, but I had to make some space for the shooting pose.

Anyhow... this is the definitive KOG IMO. If you want one, here are the official sites to get it. USA and the Japan store which ships worldwide.
